About 11,000 thousand cars were built making it a rare car. The cars were not built on a production line, each car was hand built and this continued right to the end, the last car going straight into Audi’s museum by which time in 1991 they were being sold for £32,000
It was not until 1981 when the first quattro’s appeared in the UK originally in LHD only. By the end of 1982 Audi started to build RHD versions of the car.
The car will always be best known for it domination in world rallying but a recent TV series “Ashes to Ashes” has brought the car to the public attention again.
Vintage Classics RHD red Audi quattro turbo is very similar to the car used by Gene Hunt in the TV series and being an 80’s classic is as easy to drive as a modern car, just a lot more fun and a lot more stylish. The four wheel drive system took road holding to a new level.
